Data Driven Instruction

Definition
a method of collect student in such a way that administrators, teacher, parents and students can assess student learning.
-Decisions are then made based on the data to improve instruction.

Advantages of Data Driven Instruction
  • Improves curriculum and how it should be taught
  • Implements best practices
  • Promote and increase parental involvement
  • Collect and analyze data

Disadvantages of Data Driven Instruction
  • Teachers used to talk about the child now talk about the test scores and data
  • If the data is there it needs to be analyzed not just collected
  • Teacher needs to be able to multitask around the room and keep order
